MIKEL has a tradition of delivering innovative technology and practical solutions to the U.S. Navy. Our core competency spans three major areas Acoustic Tracking and Navigation, Combat Systems, Performance Assessment In each of these areas, we provide a complete solution â ranging from an understanding of the operational context of the problem, to development of algorithms that process data, to the delivery of software and hardware systems. Our expertise is multi-disciplined. To solve real-world problems, we look at the situation holistically and deliver innovative products.
The Submarine Acoustic Navigation System Beacon is an undersea, bottom-mounted acoustic device used by the SANS system to provide undersea ground truth to submerged vehicles. The beacon can be acoustically commanded to turn on, change ping rate, increase/decrease its source level or activate release for recovery. Once activated the beacon emits a periodic coded acoustic ranging signal used by SANS.9058374132
Standardized Metrics Assesments of Readiness and Training is an analysis tool that is capable of taking inputs from a shipâs navigation and Fire Control System and displaying the crewâs responses in different situations. These different responses can be analyzed by crew members or by a third party via the SMART tool. Within SMART are variables that can be changed in order to reflect tactical guidance or shipboard policy.(270) 754-4773
Advanced Contact Management Systems aids commanding officers in gathering actionable sonar information. In the world of passive sonar, actionable information is very limited. The only pieces of information available are the arrival angles and signal frequencies of acoustic energy from other underwater contacts. With that information, commanding officers of billion-dollar naval assets infer vital actionable information.Read More
